History: A fledgling hero who recently appeared in Metropolis
in the wake of Mongul's failed invasion attempt, she has been
taken under the wing of that city's principle defender, Superman.
With the Man of Steel himself showing her the ropes, the Golden
Girl has all the makings of a first rate hero, if the headstrong
girl can survive her training. Gold'ns powers were given to her
when an alien spacecraft, part of Monguls fleet, exploded on her
family's farm. She was bathed in the strange radiation's released
by that ships explosion, and when she reawakened from her ordeal,
she discovered she was glowing, which was the first manifestation
of her powers. Her parents drove her away, thinking she was an
alien in their daughters form. She headed towards Metropolis then,
seeking to be tutored by Superman
Powers/Weapons: .What we all know about Gold'n so far is
this: She's extremely fast in flight, possibly even as fast
as Superman himself!
She's very strong, her upper strength limits are somewhere
around 20 tons fully pressed. So she's about 1/5th as strong as
Superman himself.
Her energy field will deflect most weaponry including
bullets and explosives. Though some weaponry can get through,
and harm her, as evidenced by her recent battle against Catalyst
(see Superman issue 15)
Her energy field can also be projected outwards as
a force beam, powerful enough to knock the strongest foes off
their feet!
