Name: Steve Seinberg
Email: frac_ture@yahoo.com
Age: "getting on in years"
Place of Residence: Oakland, CA
Faux DC Projects: A Crimson Avenger story in Halloween Special 4, JSA: Elseworlds ("A Terrible Misunderstanding")
Faux DC Ambition: To complete the next big epic rattling around inside my cranium -- a "replacement JLA" type deal -- and also maybe revisit some of the characters from that JSA Elseworlds story...
Real World Ambition: To write a novel and record an album, all of my own original material
Favorite DC Character: Big toss-up among Zatanna, Hourman, Dr. Mid-Nite, and Mr. Terrific
Favorite Mid-Afternoon Snack: Paul Newman's hot salt and pepper pretzels -- "Butch Cassidy" sure knows his snack treats!
My Origin in 20 words or less: I'm a mutant who later received multiple near-fatal paper-cuts from a radioactive comic book -- since healing up, I've used my resulting super-powers to fight crime, right wrongs, make a few bucks, and impress the ladies, often all at the same time (oh, and to violate word limits on things, too...)
Influences on my Faux DC work will be: Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Alan Moore, Steve Gerber, Ray Bradbury, Grant Morrison, Brian K. Vaughan, David Foster Wallace
I hate the way DC has handled the second batch of Freedom Fighters because killing them all off before properly developing them, all for the sake of cheap "shock" moments, and then adding insult to injury by creating immediate replacements for them makes me kind of ill (for other things handled in ways I hate, please see also pretty much everything DC's put out from IDENTITY CRISIS forward...)
The first DC comic I read when I get home is: Greg Rucka's CHECKMATE, followed by JSA
And when I'm reading that comic I listen to: I can't really listen to music when I'm reading or writing -- it distracts me too much
And when I ain't writin' or readin' comics, I : play guitar or bass, write songs, attempt to record songs, surf the 'net, or try to get my workout on at the gym
But all of this is irrelevant 'cos : uh...all we are is dust in the wind?
